Brenda Welch

Brenda Joyce Goines Welch, 79, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at her home. A private celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. John Muse officiating. The service will be live streamed on Ridge Funeral Home's official Facebook page. Brenda was born on January 18, 1941, in Mecklenburg Co., NC, to the late James Edward Goines and Elsie Liberty McCarthy Goines. She graduated from Central High School in Charlotte, NC, and then from Greensboro Women's College with a degree in business. She was retired from the District Attorney's Office in Randolph County after working there for 18 years. Brenda was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro. She attended faithfully until she couldn't due to her health. She enjoyed playing bridge, going out to lunch with her friends, playing solitaire on the computer and sending cards. Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Benny Keith Welch of the home; daughter, Stephanie Welch Jarrell and husband Barrett of Asheboro; son, Benjamin Edward Welch and wife Leslie of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Ali Elaine Lynch and husband Dallas of Liberty, NC, Abi Nelms Vences and husband Layo of Asheboro, Ami Nelms-Degollado and husband Jorge of Asheboro, Garrett Welch, Anna Welch, Ellie Welch all of Tuscaloosa, AL; and four great grandchildren.
