Brenda Gatlin

Brenda Joyce Hunt Gatlin, 70, of Asheboro, died Thursday, August 16, 2018, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, Trinity, with the Rev. Bryan Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born October 27, 1947, in Davidson County, Mrs. Gatlin was the daughter of the late Emory Allen Hunt and Sadie Corinna Manns Hunt. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church and had worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Stout. Brenda was wonderful wife, mother, sister and Gran. She loved her family and especially had a soft spot for the children, raising more than just her own. She always made time to help other family members, no matter what the need. She was fearless, head strong and loved with all of her heart. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Hunt and Ralph Hunt, and a special niece Diane Croker. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph E. Gatlin of the home; daughters, Duree G. Auman and husband, Charles, of Seagrove, Corrie G. Barnes and husband, Jacob, of Jackson Creek; sisters, Evelene Hunt of Asheboro, Ruth Hunt of Thomasville, Ruby Priddy of Coleridge; brothers, Mack Hunt, Odis Hunt, both of Asheboro, Raymond Hunt of Sophia; grandchildren, Cade Auman and Jace Auman both of Seagrove, Lawson Barnes of Jackson Creek, and Tyler Barnes of Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, August 18, 2018, and other times at the home. Memorials can be made to Mt.
