Brenda Cartrette

Brenda Sue Clodfelter Cartrette, 61, of Leland, NC died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elsie Hardister officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in High Point. Born September 4, 1955 in Guilford County, Mrs. Cartrette was the daughter of the late Howard and Florence Clodfelter. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Cartrette enjoyed writing poems and stories. She also enjoyed collecting angels. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cartrette was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Cartrette, Jr.; and brothers, Sidney and Howard Clodfelter. She is survived by her daughter, Emily C. Dalton of Leland, NC; grandson, David Lee Dotson of Leland; and sister, Janice C. Merritt of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
