Bobby Jarrell

Bobby Eugene Jarrell of Foster St., Asheboro, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Shook officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Jarrell was the son of the late Frank and Beatrice Jarrell. He worked at the Courier Tribune for 30 years as a newspaper carrier and a rack sales representative. He was the owner of the Peanut Shack for 10 years, but closed due to his declining health. Bobby was a devoted father, who loved his sons with pride. He was also a great stepdad and grandfather. Bobby was an avid Yankees fan and Duke fan. He taught his children and granchildren how to play ball. Bobby will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmom, Estelle Jarrell; sister, Gladys Beane; son, Mickey Jarrell; brother-in-law, Oscar Bullins, Sr.; and his faithful canine companion, "Happy". Survivors include his wife, Annie Jarrell of the home; son, Chris Jarrell (Crystal) of Asheboro; stepdaughter, Leslie Underwood (Jacob) of Asheboro; stepsons, Brent Sparks and Eric Sparks, both of Asheboro; sisters, Barbara Nance and Julia Howell, both of Asheboro; brother, Bill Jarrell of Asheboro; sisters-in-law, Mary Bullins, Cathy Hurley; brothers-in-law, Billy Bullins, Sr. (Kim) and Jeff Bullins (Renee). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Krista Jarrell, Chelsey Dever, Caitlen Jarrell, Cassidy Jarrell, Roselyn Underwood, R.J. Sparks, Abbie Sparks, Rachel Underwood, Nate Laughlin, Axton Sparks, Josiah Underwood; , granddog, Little Bit; and several nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
