Bob Godfrey

Robert Gerald Godfrey, 68, of Asheboro, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Reeder officiating. Military honors will be provided by Randolph County Honor Guard. Born July 29, 1947 in Carnegie, PA, Mr. Godfrey was the son of the late Stan and Gwen Godfrey. He was retired from the National Guard after 21 years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam. Mr. Godfrey enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Godfrey of the home; sons, Justin Godfrey and Robert Godfrey,Jr., both of Asheboro; sister, Barbara Wilcox of Carnegie, PA; brother, William Godfrey and wife, Mary of Carnegie, PA; and two grandchildren, Alex and Lena. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
