Blythe Lacy Richardson, 81, of Asheboro, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016, at West Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Chaney, Rev. Charles Linquist and Rev. Lee Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Richardson was born February 5, 1935 to the late Lacy and Carnie Richardson. He was a member of West Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman on the board of trustees and was recognized as laity of the year. Mr. Richardson was a sawmill owner/operator and a truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army. He loved animals and flowers, but his greatest love was for his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret R. Barnes; and brother, William "Bill" Richardson. Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Mary Harmon Richardson of the home; daughter, Tammy R. Auman and husband, Ronnie of Asheboro; sons, Dean Richardson and wife, Beth of Asheboro, Joey Richardson of Archdale; sisters, Doris F. Richardson, Janet R. Miller and husband, Frank, Diane L. Richardson and fiancé, Mike; brother, David E. Richardson; grandchildren, Brooke Richardson, Taylor Richardson, Matt Auman, Keith Auman; and great-grandchildren, Alli and Hunter. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.
