Blanche Cavender Allred

Mrs. Blanche Hobbs Cavender Allred, 80, of Franklinville, NC, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Ramseur Wesleyan Church with Rev. Tim Butcher and Rev. Leon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mrs. Allred was born February 17, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Rev. R.J. Hobbs and Ruby Medley Hobbs. She was a member of Ramseur Wesleyan Church for 30 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Wesleyan Women's International. She was a former member of the Franklinville Civitan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Allred, and her brother, Rossie Hobbs, Jr. Mrs. Allred is survived by her daughters, LaVerne York and husband, Rocky, of Farmer, NC, LaDale Allred, of Franklinville, NC, Linda Cox and husband, Jimmy, of Asheboro, NC; son, William Cavender, of Franklinville, NC; stepdaughter, Mary Fowlkes, of Greensboro, NC; stepson, Harvey Allred, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Freda Scarlette, of Greenville, NC, Ester Lucas, of Mebane, NC; brothers, Archie Hobbs, of Lineman, SC, Clyde Hobbs, of Medlin, TX; seven grandchildren, one step grandchild, 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the church and other times at the home.
