Bill Willard

William "Bill" Randolph Willard, 71, of Asheboro, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro, with Rev. Caitlin Tremper officiating. Born in Richmond County, NC, on June 22, 1947, Bill was the son of the late Albert Willard and Mary Chance Willard. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outside. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James Willard. Surviving are his wife, Ann Willard, of the home; sons, William "Randy" Willard, Jr., of Troy, Matthew Willard, of the home; stepson, Jason Southern, of Charlotte; sister, Linda Willard Singletary, of Florence, SC; brother, Eugene Willard, of Rockingham; grandson, William "Will" Willard, III, of Hamlet; and canine companion, "Little Bill". Memorials may be made to Randolph SPCA, 300 W. Bailey Street, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Ridge Funeral Home.
