Bill Ludlum

Billy Preston "Bill" Ludlum, 81, of Asheboro, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born July 13, 1936 in Robeson County, Mr. Ludlum was the son of the late Jack and Lois Ludlum. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. Mr. Ludlum retired from GE/Black & Decker after 38 years of service. He raised horses and loved old cars. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and great-grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Brantley Ludlum; brother, Harold Ludlum; and sisters, Tiny Ludlum and Jo Overstreet. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Ludlum of Asheboro; sister, Christine Duke of Concord; granddaughter, Kristin Jones and husband, Daniel; and great-grandsons, Preston Jones and Kyle Jones. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The Randolph Hospice House, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
