Betty Lou Needham York, 88, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2024, at Trinity Ridge Memory Care in Hickory.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ed Arroyo and Pastor Gregg Plott officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. York was a native of Randolph County, born on May 30, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Mittie Brown Needham. She was an owner of Kids Playhouse Daycare and retired from Asheboro City Schools as a daycare coordinator. She attended church at C-4 in Asheboro and she loved her church family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. York was preceded in death by her husband, Terry York; siblings, Carl Needham, Tom Needham, Alfred Needham, Lucille Craven, Edith Lee, Clara Mae Needham; and an infant daughter, Terry Lynn York.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Plott and husband Gregg of Vale, Lisa Kennedy and husband Darrell of Asheboro; grandchildren, Hilarie Fisackerly and husband Clay, Mackenzie Plott, Trent Kennedy; great grandchild, Hattie Fisackerly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m., at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
