Betty Walker

Betty Jean Moody Walker, 90, of Sophia, died Monday, August 24, 2020 at North Pointe of Archdale in Archdale. Private graveside services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mrs. Walker was born December 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Charlie Elmer Moody and Edith Ophelia Underwood Moody. She attended Asheboro High School and was retired from the Randolph County School Systems. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Walker, and grandson, Jonathan Simmons. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra King of Randleman, Sue Walker of Asheboro; son, Monty Walker and wife Debbie of Greensboro; grandchildren, Kimberly Mitchell (Tim), Kristian King, Lindsay Taylor (Darren), Eric Walker (Kati); great grandchildren, Meagan Tuck-Snelling (Patrick), Emma Mitchell, Keaton Taylor, Ella Taylor and Lola Ryan. Mrs. Walker will lie in state from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 533 S.
