Betty Joan Phillips

Mrs. Betty Joan Robbins Phillips, 76, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. O. Ralph Kraft, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Phillips was born July 16, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Wilburn Robbins and Flossie Sheffield Robbins. Mrs. Phillips was retired from Klaussner Furniture and she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Phillips; sister, Kathleen Robbins Rose; and brother, Earl Robbins. Mrs. Phillips is survived by daughters, Tammy Grenon, Sharon Harrelson and husband, Mike, Dolores Watson and husband, Mike, all of Asheboro; stepson, Darrell Phillips and wife, Darlene, of Ramseur; sisters, Marjorie Luck, Genevieve Yahn, both of Asheboro; brother, Eugene Robbins, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Aaron Watson, Chloe Watson, Amy Harrelson, Joanna Harrelson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, June 10, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mike and Sharon Harrelson, 1885 Moore Road, Asheboro. Park Street, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Bayada Nurses, the Randolph Hospice House and the Randolph Cancer Center.
