Betty Mcleod-Renegar

Betty Jean Huneycutt McLeod-Renegar, 85, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Frank Ramos officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Born on July 3, 1933 in Stanly County, NC, Betty was the daughter of the late Jasper and Vera Huneycutt. She was retired from Energizer and attended Brower's Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed listening to music and traveling, especially to Hawaii. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, James McLeod, second husband, Clarence "Sonny" Renegar; and sister, Shirley Wright. Surviving are her daughters, Susan McLeod Behr (Bob), Cindy McLeod Myers (Randall), all of Asheboro; sisters, Frances Huneycutt Dunn (Neal), of Asheboro, Linda Huneycutt Lowdermilk (James), of Garner; grandchildren, Robert "Robbie" Behr (Anna), of Holly Springs, Jennifer Behr (Matt Cohen), Katie Myers Davenport (Zak), Mindy Myers Garner (Ross), all of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Foster Davenport, Brady Davenport, Warren Garner and Robert "Tripp" Behr. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
