Betty Ann Beane McDonald, 75, of Asheboro, met her Savior face to face, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, surrounded by her family, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp and Rev. Todd McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The funeral service will be livestreamed at Ridge Funeral Home's official Facebook page. Betty Ann was born on December 21, 1945, in Randolph County. She was a graduate from Asheboro High School and King's College in Charlotte. Betty Ann retired from Union Carbide/Energizer after 42 years. She was a member of Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church where she served in many ways, such as a youth sponsor, nursery worker, board member and an adult Sunday School teacher. Betty Ann enjoyed caregiving for her mother and Ray, and especially enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports and cheering for her Dallas Cowboys. Betty Ann was preceded in death by her father, Robert Wilson Beane. She is survived by her husband, Ray McDonald of the home; son, Todd McDonald and wife Carmen of Greenville; mother, Nellie Mae Beane of Asheboro; grandchildren, Nathan McDonald, Ridge McDonald, Abby Marcum, Matty Marcum, Cooper Marcum; sister-in-law, Diane Voncannon; and niece, JoDee Voncannon. The family will receive friends at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, prior to the service.
