Betty Routh Gordon

Mrs. Betty Joyce Routh Gordon, 80, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Farlow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Gordon was born June 27, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Gurney Edison Routh and Alma Ruth Trotter Routh. She was a member of North Asheboro McDonalds bingo club and enjoyed cooking, gardening and family get-togethers. She was a caregiver to many special families and made memory bears. She worked at Acme-McCrary, Allmond Seaming as a floor lady and at L.L.& M. She attended Charlotte United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edsel W. Gordon, of the home; daughters, Dianne Gordon, of Asheboro, NC, Kim Gordon, of the home; sister, Vera R. Davis, of Asheboro, NC, half-sister, Peggy Newton and husband, David, of Asheboro, NC; half-brother, Gurney Routh Jr. and wife Linda, of Asheboro, NC; Special children; Kari, Lani and Jona Beth The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
