Betty Jean Collier

Mrs. Betty Jean Journigan Collier, 73, of Asheboro, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by all who loved her deeply, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with her sister-in-law, Shirley Freeman, officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Temple Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklinville. A native of Franklin County, NC, Mrs. Collier was born November 16, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Early Hill Journigan and Grace Elizabeth Grissom Journigan and was a homemaker. Mrs. Collier is survived by her daughters, Connie Hicks and Robert Beal, of Randleman, NC, Marsha Hatley and husband, Mark of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Castle, of Randleman, NC, Brandon Hicks and wife, Alicia, of Troy, NC, Alison Hicks and David Belcher, of Randleman, NC, Brent Allmon and wife, Kristin, of Denton, NC, Shana Lineberry and husband, Lee, of Asheboro, NC, 12 Great Grandchildren; brothers, R. J. Journigan and Early Hill Journigan, Jr., both of Franklinton, NC, The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, July 18, 2011, at and other times at the home of Marsha Hatley. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to Take."
