Betty Jane Luck Adams, 82, of Asheboro, died Friday, July 24, 2020, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Mt. Tabor Community Church Cemetery, Asheboro, with Pastor Scott Kidd officiating. Born in Randolph County, NC on May 13, 1938, Betty was the daughter of the late Astor Lonnie Luck and Loutishia McPherson Luck. She graduated from Franklinville High School in 1956. She had worked at Stedman Manufacturing. Betty was a foster parent for Randolph County for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, studying genealogy, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. Betty loved her family and loved being "Granny B" to her great grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, Randy Eugene Adams (Brenda) of Asheboro, Robert Dale Adams of Asheboro; foster daughter, Lori of the home; grandson, Jonathan "John" Adams (Rebecca) of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Grayson and Brittlee, both of Asheboro; step grandchildren, Ben Peterson of Candor, Lara Peterson of Pinehurst; step great-grandsons, Landon Crabb, Christopher Edwards; sisters-in-law, Odelia Luck of Asheboro, Joanna Adams of Michigan, Ruth Adams of Thomasville, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Robert Adams and brothers, Roland McPherson, Lonnie Luck, Johnny Luck (Shirley); sisters, Martha Luck Sauders, Dora Etta Koesy (Sheldon), brothers-in-law, James Adams, Ray Adams (Judy), Ricky Adams; and sister-in-law, Doris Adams. Betty's body will lie in state on Monday, July 27, 2020, from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Community Church, Cemetery Fund, 1269 Mt. Tabor Church Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.
