Bessie Potts Hancock

Mrs. Bessie Leanne Potts Hancock, 93, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, February 4, 2011, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, February 7, 2011, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Yadkin County, NC, Mrs. Hancock was born January 2, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Potts and Mary Jane Williard Potts. She was retired from Bossong Hosiery and she was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved everybody. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Amos Hancock and her granddaughter, Cynthia Hancock. Mrs. Hancock is survived by her daughter, Jane Wooters and husband, Mike Allred, of Ramseur; sons, Jerry Hancock and wife, Nancy, of Randleman, Floyd Hancock and wife, Betty, of Asheboro, Lloyd Hancock; grandchildren, Brent Wooters, Jerry Thomas Hancock, Jr., Amy Hancock Rudisill and husband, Alan, Kimberly Graham and husband, Lavette, Leslie Hancock; great grandchildren, Haleigh Wooters, Thomas Hancock, Jacob Rudisill, Kaleb Green, Mikaela Green, Kaden Graham and Kahlin Graham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Floyd & Betty Hancock, 1033 Circle B Drive, Asheboro.
