Bernard "Bob" Joyce

Bernard "Bob" Eugene Joyce, 95, of Asheboro, died Friday, May 22, 2026, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 N Fayetteville St., Asheboro, with Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. A burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park.

Bob was born on February 15, 1931, in Mt. Airy, NC, the son of the late Eugene Fletcher Joyce and Nellie Inman Joyce. Bob honorable served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in Fort Dix, New Jersey, during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. He married his wife, Lois Hill in 1952. Bob later retired from Sew Special, Inc.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hill Joyce who passed on September 2, 2012; and his sister, Virginia Taylor.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Gordon and husband Mark of Asheboro; son, Wayne Joyce and wife Danette of Asheboro; brother, Donald Joyce of Randleman; grandchildren, Gregory Park and wife Megan of Asheboro, Brad Joyce and wife Angie of Statesville; great grandchildren, Lincoln Park, Jonas Park, Avery Joyce; and very special friend, Betty Scruggs of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., at Balfour Baptist Church, Wednesday, prior to the service.
