Benton "Benny" C. Patterson

Benton "Benny" Carlton Patterson, 76, of Asheboro, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Chatham County, NC, on May 18, 1945, Benton was the son of the late Joseph Clarence Patterson and Edna Maness Patterson. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. After being discharged from the Army, he worked in upholstry and then retired from Prestige Fabricators. He was a kind and loving husband. Benton enjoyed gardening and flowers and could fix anything around the house. He loved his family and his dog, Gidget. In addition to his parents, Benton was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey "Jeff" Patterson; sister, Patricia Patterson; and brother, Larry Patterson. Surviving are his wife, Marie Davis Lovell Patterson of the home; daughter, Lisa Trogdon (Darrell) of Randleman; stepdaughters, Sharon Bridgeman (Keith) of Asheboro, Karen Lovell of Asheboro; stepsons, David Lovell (Sherry) of Eagle Springs, Kevin Lovell of Asheboro; brothers, Joseph Eugene Patterson (Treva) of Raleigh, Clyde Patterson (Dorothy) of Wilson, Wrenn Patterson (Helen) of Apex; sister-in-law, Denzal Patterson of Ramseur; 10 step grandchildren; and 10 step great grandchildren.
