Benny J. Gordon

Mr. Benny Joe Gordon, 54, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, May 21, 2012, at Salisbury National Cemetery with Rev. Boyd Byerly and Jones Lamar Howell officiating. Military honors will to be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Davidson County, NC, Mr. Gordon was born June 20, 1957. He was the son of the late Luther Gordon and Mary Varner Gordon. Mr. Gordon had worked in furniture manufacturing and as a long distance truck driver. He attended Sunset Avenue Church of God. Mr. Gordon served in the US Army. Mr. Gordon is survived by his wife, Betty H. Gordon, of the home; step-daughter, Lanette Leggett, of Asheboro, NC; step-son, Benjy Howell, of High Point, NC; sisters, Vonnie Brady, of Asheboro, NC, Betty Lou Richardson, of Seagrove, NC; brothers, Wayne Gordon, of Thomasville, NC, Charlie Gordon, of Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Monday, May 21, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
