Barbara Nan Thompson

Barbara Nan Duck Thompson, 84, of Asheboro, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Barbara was born on January 25, 1936, in Cass Co., TX to the late Luther Duck and Vern Nell Chislom Duck. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and a former member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Malcom Thompson; sister, Marcie Oister;and brothers, George Nelson and James Duck. She is survived by her daughters, Patty Mulkey and husband Bill of Asheboro; Cheryll Beard of Asheboro; brother, Mike Duck of Texas; grandchildren; Mike Mulkey and wife Brandy, Heather Holder; great grandson, Wesley Mulkey; and special friend, Joyce Smith. Due to restrictions on group gatherings, a private graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020, at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Mason and Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1642 N. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
