Barbara Jean Sawyer

Barbara Jean Brewer Sawyer, 74, of Asheboro, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at her home. Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Preacher Dane Waggoner officiating. Born on November 12, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN, Mrs. Sawyer was the daughter of the late James McKinley Brewer and Inez Davis Brewer. She was retired from Malvern Savings. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sawyer was preceded in death by her brother, Craig Boyd Brewer. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Edward Sawyer, Sr., of the home; daughters, Kelly Sawyer Jones and husband, Terry, of Spring, TX, Kimberly Sawyer Mays and husband, Timothy, of Webster, NY; son, Thomas Edward Sawyer, Jr. of Asheboro; granddaughters, Kristin Jones Shell, Bailee Nicole Almekinder, Bristal LeeAnn Almekinder; grandsons, Stephen Thomas Jones, Michael Wade Jones, Matthew Scott Jones, great-grandsons, Tyler McKinley Shell, Austin Newman Shell, Bryan Wade Shell, Cullen James Almekinder, Hunter Liam Jones; great granddaughter, Skylar Lynn Jones; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home.
