Barbara Hairston

Barbara Hairston, 83, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Harold Williams officiating. Born in Washington, D.C. on August 26, 1932, Mrs. Hairston was the daughter of the late Robert and Doris "Dot" Blackwell. She was a member of Connected Bridge Ministries. Mrs. Hairston was a CNA who worked with disabled children and was retired from Elastic Fibers. She loved spending time with her children and enjoyed feeding her cats. Mrs. Hairston is survived by her husband, Baxter Hairston of the home; daughters, Sundra Hooker, Judy White, Doris Siler and Penny Siler, all of Asheboro; sons, Robert Siler (Barbara) and Terry Siler (Pamela Yvette Siler), all of Asheboro; sister, Carolyn Liles (James) of Washington, D.C.; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren.
