Barbara Ann Drake

Asheboro Barbara Ann Drake Barbara Ann Dapuzzo Drake, 77, of Asheboro, died Sunday, June 13, 2021 at her home. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Born in Jersey City, NJ on October 4, 1943, Barbara was the daughter of the late Andrew Dapuzzo and Marion Chesterfield Dapuzzo. She earned her LPN license in New Jersey and worked there until she moved with her husband and three children to Pleasant Garden, NC. The family later moved to Franklinville and resided there until 2018 when they moved to Mountain Top Residential in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Drake and her granddaughter, Ashley Newcomb. Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer Gentle and husband Kevin of Asheboro, Mariana Newcomb and partner James Burchill of Dundalk, MD, Melissa Brewerton and husband Joe of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Linda Gadek of Dublin, OH; granddaughters, Brittney Young and husband, Kenneth, Victoria Gentle; and great granddaughter, Madilyn Young.
