Auther Lee Goins

Mr. Auther Lee Goins, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, August 12, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Brooks and Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Goins was born March 11, 1930. He was the son of the late William Harvey and Nellie Cox Goins. Mr. Goins served in the US Army during Korean War and received the Purple Heart. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Beth Cook. Mr. Goins is survived by his wife, Norma Goins, of the home; daughter, Ruth Cook and husband, Ronnie, of Asheboro, NC; son, Wesley Robinson and wife, Sue, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Lucille Lamb, of Asheboro, NC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
