Attress York

Mrs. Attress Janet Kidd York, 77, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Reaves and Dr. Bobby Blanton officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. York was born June 8, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Kidd and Attress Alice York Kidd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benson York, Sr., sister, Pauline Kidd Saunders, and brother, David Kidd. Attress was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma and sister. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper, Cub Scout den leader and grade school mother. She gave love and support to family and friends. She was famous for her smile, love, cooking, baking and gardening. She was always willing to help with anything. Mrs. York was a member of Balfour Baptist Church where she held several volunteer positions including nursery director, bereavement committee director, social committee director and young in heart food committee director. Attress was a beautiful, Christian lady who lived her life as an example for all of us. Mrs. York is survived by daughter, Debra York Rogers and husband, Sam, of Asheboro, NC; son, Benson "Craig"� York, Jr., and wife, Lisa, of Asheboro, NC, grandchildren, Kayla Ann Rogers, Ben Tyler York, Christa Michelle York; sisters, Virgie Kidd Trogdon and husband, Bob, of Ramseur, Lydia Kidd Cagle and husband, Everette, of Star, NC; brother, Melvin Kidd and wife, Linda, of Ramseur. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at 346 Croomcrest Road, Asheboro, NC.
