Ardle Lee Perdue, 79, of Asheboro passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at his home in the township of Tabernacle, Randolph County. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Ellis and Pastor Rick McCranie presiding. Burial will follow at Liberty Fellowship Church Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Ardle Lee was born on December 7, 1941, to Willie “Tip” Clifton and Josie Marie Perdue. Ardle Lee was married to Janice Faye Perdue, 77, of 59 years. He was a member of the Farmer High School Class of 1960. He was an active member of Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church. Ardle Lee was an electrician by trade, completing a multitude of commercial projects throughout the state. He retired from the Randolph County Schools Maintenance Department in 2003. His talents did not end with refrigeration and electrical work; he was a genuine Renaissance Man whose abilities were seemingly countless. He was a capable mechanic, a competent builder, and a trained private pilot. His enthusiasm for aviation began with remote controlled airplanes in the 1960s. He was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association, and together with his son Sandy, built and restored four aircraft throughout his career. He spread his love for aviation throughout his entire family, resulting in many of his family members becoming pilots. His expertise in a multitude of areas was truly rare. His favorite occasion was a large family gathering filled with laughter, stories, and love; proving his adoration for family. In addition to his parents, Ardle Lee was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Janine Perdue; son, Alan Bryan Perdue; sister, Doris Jean Hurley; brother, Austin Ray Perdue; and brother, Kenneth Cleveland Perdue. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Sandy Lee Perdue, 57, of Asheboro; grandson Christopher Alan Perdue, 30, of New Bern; granddaughter Tabatha Janine Perdue, 25, of Asheboro; brothers, Larry Perdue, Stevie Perdue; sisters, Peggy Causey, Betty Causey, Shirley Rich, and Rhonda Albertson. The family is receiving friends at his home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church, 844 Mt. Shepherd Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.
