Ardith Pixley Culpepper

Ardith Lavon Pixley Culpepper, 84, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center in Jamestown. A private memorial service will be held. Born on December 19, 1930, in Devide Co. ND, Mrs. Culpepper was the daughter of the late Art Pixley and Esther Ruth Thompson Pixley. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro, where she sang with the Joyful Singers and was an active member of her Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Culpepper. Surviving are her sons, Robert L. "Bob" Culpepper, of Asheboro, James A. Culpepper, of Palm Springs, CA; daughters, Cindy C. Lanning and husband, Bobby, of Greensboro, Lavonda "Vonnie" C. Housand, of Asheboro; sister, Emily "Tuppie" Smith, of Greensboro; brother, Daune Pixley, of Long View, WA; grandchildren, Ryan Culpepper, Nisa Gibbons, Jamie Atkins, Andrew Housand; and several great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 101 Centerport Drive, Greensboro, NC 27409; the American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter Street, Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204; or to First Baptist Church, P.O.
