Anna Ruth Weatherford Hatcher, 84, of Asheboro, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Sunset Avenue Church of God with Rev. Larry May officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. All attendees please wear a mask for everyone's safety. Ruth was born on September 25, 1936, in Rockingham, NC to Annie and Off Weatherford. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. She loved to spend time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. All who knew her will remember her as a loving and compassionate woman of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. David Hatcher; siblings, Amos (Slim), Myrtle, Curt, Lonnie, Evelyn, Jim and Mary Jane. Ruth is survived by her sons, David Hatcher and wife Louise Hatcher; Ricky Hatcher and his wife, Kathy Hatcher; Kenneth Hatcher and his wife Stephanie Hatcher; her grandchildren, Lauren Hatcher, Cameron Hatcher and Jaxson Hatcher. The family will receive friends at Sunset Avenue Church of God, from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
