Ann Staley Summers, 90, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2019, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Rev. David Hunt officiating. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mrs. Summers was born January 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur Staley and Alice Luck Staley. She had worked at Becky's of Asheboro for years and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. She loved oil painting, doing crafts, was an excellent seamstress, and was a regular at Jed's BBQ. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Joe" Summers, and brothers, Albert Staley, Alfred Staley, Fred Staley, Aster Staley and Sam Staley. Mrs. Summers is survived by her sister, Lucy Jenkins of King, brother, Eugene Staley and wife Rebecca of Denton, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Asheboro, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
