Ann Herbin Davis

Mrs. Mary Ann Herbin-Davis, 62, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, October 25, 2014, at her home. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Thursday, October 30, 2014, at New Goshen Methodist Church, Greensboro, NC, where she has a member since childhood. Dr. Alfonzo Everett will be officiating. Burial will follow at church cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born in Guilford Co., NC, on January 20, 1952, to Phair Ethel Herbin, who preceded her in death. Mary Ann attended Guilford County Schools. Ann loved being with family and friends and possessed talents such as cooking and singing so much that Reverend James Cleveland offered her a position in his choir. She made a career as a cook and a machine operator at Hamrick's Fabricator until her health declined. Ann leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her husband of 39 years, Jerry M. Davis, of the home; two sons, Michaels S. Herbin and Dirreck R. Davis, both of Greensboro, NC; three daughters, Toma A. Herbin, Thea R. Herbin (Clarence), both of Asheboro, NC, Makeya M Barksdale (Eddie), of Greensboro, NC; 14 grandchildren, one preceding her is death, six great grandchildren; 11 siblings, Roger Herbin (Patricia), of High Point, NC, Clarence Goins, Phair Herbin, Jr., (Annie), Calvin Herbin, Danny Herbin, Ethel Wrenn (Phillip), Vanessa Cummings, Charlotte Herbin, Jacqueline Hendricks (Carl), Sally Bryant (James), Linda Stover, all of Greensboro, NC; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
