Ann H. Davidson

September 7, 1938 — November 21, 2021

Charlotte Ann Davidson, 83, of Asheboro, died Sunday, November 21, 2021 at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church with Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp and Rev. Eric Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Randolph County Honor Guard will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Born September 7, 1938 in Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Davidson was the daughter of the late Erby and Lorraine Cork Huggins. Ann was many things to many people. She was a sweet daughter, fun niece, big sister, cool cousin, beautiful wife, helpful aunt, loving mother, kind mother-in-law, proud grandmother, and best friend. She was originally from Alabama, which is where she met Duane. She moved to his home in North Carolina and married in 1965. She officially became “Mother” in 1968 when Tracie and Tonya arrived, followed later by Kimberly and then Brett. Ann was always giving of herself; she opened her home to a girl in need, and welcomed Alana into her family. Eventually many grandchildren arrived, and “Grandmother” adored each one of them. She cherished all her children and grandchildren and always wanted to do anything for them. Ann loved to travel, whether it be back to Alabama to visit family and the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores or anywhere exciting.  She was always just ready to go. She had a passion for shopping and collecting...and collect she did, as all who knew her can attest.  Ann was also a wonderful cook who enjoyed a full table for Sunday lunch.  She was a Christian and devoted member of Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church. Ann loved her community in Asheboro and spent many years working at the NC Zoo.  She will be deeply missed.    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Jones. Mrs. Davidson is survived by her husband, Duane Davidson of the home; daughters, Tracie Davidson (Dr. Philip McGrew) of Statesville, Tonya Wright (Dana) of Liberty, Kimberly Burtt (Mat) of Center Valley, PA; son, Brett Davidson (Kelley) of Greensboro; "adopted daughter," Dr. Alana Sullivan (Joseph Grappe) of Clayton; sister, Josephine Walker (Robert) of Silver Hill, AL; brother, Erby Huggins, Jr. (Sharon) of Silver Hill, AL; grandchildren, Jared Wright, Mackenzie Wright, Wyatt Wright, Emma Burtt, Reese Burtt, Jake Burtt, Wilson Davidson, Lucas Davidson, Ayla Grappe, Cy Grappe, Michael McGrew (Lillian), Christopher McGrew (Amanda), Patrick McGrew, and Spencer McGrew. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Randolph County Honor Guard, PO Box 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204.
