Alvin B. Mcelreath

Mr. Alvin Buddy McElreath, 84, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday, May 4, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Tysinger officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Buncombe County, NC, Mr. McElreath was born September 15, 1927. He was the son of the late Crawford William McElreath and Ella Wright McElreath. He was a member of Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church and was retired from Duke Power and also as the owner and operator of West Side Electric Company. Mr. McElreath served in the US Air Force where he was a physical training instructor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Bertis Richardson and Helen Loflin, and his brothers, Don McElreath and Lee McElreath. Mr. McElreath is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Inman McElreath, of the home; sons, Rev. Larry McElreath and wife, Tammy, of Charlotte, NC, Ricky McElreath, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Thadd McElreath and wife, Jamie, Beau McElreath and fiancée, Elizabeth Coble, all of Sanford, NC; great grandchild, Jude McElreath; sister, Hazel Small, of Denton, NC; brothers, Hoyt McElreath, of Denton, NC, Louie McElreath, Kenneth "Pete" McElreath, of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, May 4, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
