Mary Allene Harper Freeman, 89, of Asheboro, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Freeman was born April 10, 1926 to the late James Oliver and Nannie Purvis Harper. In addition to being a homemaker, she was the supervisor of housekeeping at Randolph Hospital. She was an avid christian who made donations to multiple charities. She raised her eldest granddaughter, Angela Freeman, like she was her own child. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Macy Freeman; her son, Steve Arthur Freeman; five sisters, Canary Green, Rosa Amick, Pauline Routh, Rena Moore; and her brother, Howard Harper. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Freeman Saunders and Macie Freeman Calloway, both of Asheboro; six grandchildren, Angela Freeman, Lonnie Luck, III, Rodney Freeman, Randy Freeman, Chris Salmons, Tracy Salmons; eight great-grandchildren, Angel, Rodney Jr., Ashley, Destynee, Ricky, Christian, Desiree and Hailey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
