Alfred H. Harris

Rev. Alfred Harlo Harris, 98, of 813 Highland Street, Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Asheboro Friends Meeting with the Revs. Pat & Ken Thames, the Rev. Leslie Winslow and the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Friends Meeting, Snow Camp, NC. Rev. Harris was a native of Alamance County and was a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting. He was the former pastor at Prosperity Friends Meeting and Highfalls Friends Meeting in Highfalls, NC. Rev. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Louise Harris, his sister, Zilpha Hargorve, and his brother, Howard Harris. Survivors include his daughter, Martha Sue McCoy, of the home; son, Alfred T. Harris and wife, Golda, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tammy McPherson and husband, Steve, Dean Harris, Cam Allred and husband, Reggie, Christy Williams and husband, Tommy, Adam McCoy and wife, Amanda; great grandchildren, Jason McPherson, Heath McPherson, Jake Harris, Thomas McCoy, Isaac McCoy, Ashton Allred, Alec Allred, Aidan Allred; great-great grandchild, Hayleigh McPherson. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm on Tuesday and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
