Albert "Al" Calvin Stafford, 87, of Asheboro, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Hefner officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Davidson County, NC on March 14, 1929, Mr. Stafford was the son of the late John Robert Stafford and Lucy Bumgarner Stafford. He was a graduate of NC State University and he served in the US Army. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and he was an avid gardener and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Elaine Stafford, of the home; daughters. Connie Wilson, Vicky (Church) Russell and husband, Greg, Kelly Bohlen and husband, Todd, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brad Wilson, of Asheboro, Stephanie Jeffcoat and husband, Chris, of West Columbia, SC, Derek Church, of Winston-Salem, Julie Church, of Greenville, NC, Tyler Bohlen and Caroline Bohlen, both of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Hunter Wilson, Harper Jeffcoat and Noah Jeffcoat The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Asheboro. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, 505 S. Park Street, Asheboro, NC 27203; or to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. The family would like to extend at special thank you to the nurses and staff at Sandy Ridge Memory Care, Randolph Hospital and the Randolph Hospice House for the care given to Albert.
