Albert Rufus Luther

Albert Rufus Luther, 82, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015, at Pisgah United Methodist Church in Asheboro with Rev. Bob Dowling and Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born on September 24, 1932 in Randolph County, NC, Mr. Luther was the son of the late William Rufus Luther and Fleta Alice Lucas Luther. He was retired from Acme-McCrary and was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mr. Luther served in the US Army. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luther was preceded in death by his sister, Mamie Luther and brothers, Howard Luther, Wade Luther and Wayne Luther. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Faye Cole Luther, of the home; son, Tim Luther and wife, Angie, of Asheboro; daughter, Linda Kendricks and husband, Mark, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Ruby Jean Luther and Nellie Miller, both of Asheboro; grandchildren, Laura York, Jordan Luther, Alex Luther; great-grandchildren, Owen York, Annie Kate York, Lucy Claire York and Amelia Luther. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm, Monday, April 27, 2015 at Pisgah United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
