Alan Bryan Perdue

May 8, 1969 — February 20, 2019

Alan Bryan Perdue, 49, of Asheboro passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at Liberty Fellowship, with Rev. Lee Ellis and Pastor Rick McCranie presiding. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Alan was born on May 8, 1969, to Ardle Lee and Janice Perdue. He was a member of Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church, where he served as the pianist. Alan was a talented musician, even at the age of five when he began playing with the Deep Valley Boys. In the 1990s, Alan began his professional career as a bluegrass mandolinist. He was a member of numerous prominent bands including After 5ive, Junior Sisk and Rambler's Choice, Mountain Heart, and IIIrd Tyme Out. Apart from his inspiring musicianship, he was a genius auto mechanic. After his music career, he worked as a mechanic throughout the Asheboro and Randolph County area where he could be close to family. Alan was the most generous, caring father, brother, son, and friend any person could wish for. The happiness of others was more important to him than his own; he brought joy to those around him with his witty humor and warm smile. He will forever be remembered. Alan was preceded in death by sister, Tammy Janine Perdue. In addition to his parents, he is survived by daughter Tabatha Janine Perdue, 23, of Asheboro; son Christopher Alan Perdue, 28, of Asheboro; brother Sandy Lee Perdue, 55, of Asheboro. The family is receiving friends at the home of his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church, 844 Mt. Shepherd Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.
