Mr. Aaron Murphy Lewallen, 75, of Asheboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Randolph Hospital following a couple years of failing health. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Lewallen was born August 6, 1935. He was the son of the late Noah Murphy Lewallen and Myrtle Moody Lewallen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Lee Lewallen; half-brothers, John Lewallen, Theodore Lewallen, G.W. Lewallen; half-sisters, Geneva L. Routh and Agnes L. Cox. Aaron loved his family and friends. He was a caring and compassionate person. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and he enjoyed immensely watching races on TV. He was a great lawn tool fixer. He last worked for the City of Asheboro Garage, and since had retired. Mr. Lewallen is survived by two sisters, Lucy Shirley, Yvonne "Bebe"� Harris and husband, Earl; nieces and nephews, Dee Lowe and husband, Jimmy, Alyssa Lowe, Kerrin Lowe, Andrew Lowe, Larry Routh and wife, Sally, Ted Routh and wife, Toni, Brenda Routh and husband, Clarence, Linda Redding, Dorothy Lewallen; and friends, Lawrence and Linda Voncannon. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 4:15 pm Thursday, July 28, 2011, at West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with the Rev. Tommy Smith officiating. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Randolph Hospital for the excellent care given to Aaron during his five and a half week hospital stay.
