Terry Lee Yates

Terry Lee Yates, 61, of Randleman, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Vic Redding officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born on April 19, 1956 in Guilford County, NC, Mr. Yates was the son of the late Raymond Wilson Yates and Martha Virgiina Smith Yates. He was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. He was retired from Matrex of Greensboro where he took pride in his work. He had a quick wit and a playful sense of humor. Mr. Yates loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Yates, James Yates and canine companion, Jake. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Yates of the home; stepdaughter, Cathy Escutia and husband, Rafael; stepson, Eric Jarrell of Southport; sisters, Jane Lawson and husband, David of Greensboro, Shelbie Martindale of Greensboro, Lynne Marley and husband, James of Pleasant Garden, Sara Matherly and husband, Rick of Madison; brothers, David Yates and wife, Joyce of Charlotte, Paul Yates and wife, Debbie of Charlotte; grandchildren, Joey Kivett, Jessica Escutia, Tiffany Jarrell; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and faithful canine companions, Dora, Paisley, Buddy and Gracie. The family will recieve friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Animal Awareness Society, 613 E.
