Kenneth R. Coleman

Mr. Kenneth Richard Coleman, 70, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Timothy Fonner officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Coleman was born February 21, 1944. He was the son of the late Edward Chalmers Coleman and Elna Mae Kearns Coleman. He was a firefighter with the Asheboro Fire Department for 25 years and took pride in caring for the rose garden at the fire department. He also worked at Ridge Funeral Home. Kenneth loved music and listening to his ipod, grilling out, cooking, being at the lake and driving the boat. He loved going to breakfast with the Thursday morning group of guys and traveling with his family to many different places. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and new great grandfather. He took great joy in his grandchildren and he always planned ahead to make sure his family was taken care of. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Barry Coleman on March 28, 2014. Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Linda Brown Coleman; of the home; daughter, Donna Coleman Dalke and husband, Bobby Jr., of Asheboro, NC; daughter-in-law; Audra Coleman, of Thomasville; grandchildren, Paige Armfield and husband, John, of Thomasville, NC, Ryan Coleman and wife, Miranda, of Hampton, VA, Kenlin Dalke, Trey Dalke, both of Asheboro; and great grandson, Caleb E. Coleman. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
