James Deaton

James Pate Deaton, 79, of Randleman, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born on August 22, 1939, in Hamlet, NC, Mr. Deaton was the son of the late Robert James Deaton and Irene Owens Deaton. James was retired from MMP in Greensboro, NC, and was a member of Sophia Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William (Buster) Deaton, and sister, Mildred Deaton Mosley. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Saunders Deaton, of the home; sons, Maurice Deaton (Cathy) of Ramseur, NC, Jeffrey Deaton of Asheboro, NC; daughter, Christal Deaton Burford (Ricky) of Sophia, NC; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Deaton Hussey of Seagrove, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018, prior to service at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
