Who We Are

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

When we sit down with a family, we have just one goal: to create a fitting, memorable and affordable service for their loved one. Together, we explore the wide variety of services and products available, as well as a wealth of creative ideas and suggestions.

Together, we'll design a memorial or funeral service that suits their needs now, and in the future. Families who come to us know that years from now, they will have deep peace-of-mind because in coming to us, they've done their best to honor their loved one.

  • Our History

Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service goes back to 1851 when it was a livery stable and undertaking shop. It is believed to be one of the oldest continuing operation businesses in   Asheboro. Over the years there have been several owners and the funeral home has operated under several different names.

In 1978 Jim Swaringen and Kirk Goodman purchased the business from the estate of Robert H. Ridge. Jim played a key role in the sucess of the business until his death in 2007. The funeral home is currently a Limited Liability Corporation owned by partners Andy Huffine, Kirk Goodman and Nancy Swaringen and is also an honored Dignity Memorial® Provider. Andy, Kirk and Nancy are there to serve the client families daily.

  • About Us

Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Funeral Service as a full service funeral service establishment. Charles T. Reeder serves as Location Manager.

Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service is operated by a staff of caring professionals who are dedicated to caring for the families we serve. The Ridge hosting staff, along with the full time professionals, works hard at hosting the friends of the family as they call at the funeral home. We believe that by making a "home like" atmosphere and taking good care of family and friends makes everyone feel more at ease.

Our attention to the presentation of every family's loved one, even if only for a private viewing before cremation, is an art that is very important to our talented and well trained preparation staff. We know this is an important component of the grief process.

We encourage the public to come by our funeral home, meet the staff and view our location before the need of our services. An informed person can better make choices when it becomes necessary.
